[...] Moving to Greensboro, North Carolina As I posted before I left JC to come to Greensboro, I’ve a bunch of mixed feelings. One one hand, going from a long-distance relationship to living with Angela has been great. Just as cool has been seeing my brother much more than once every six months. Greensboro is a laid back town, larger in scale than my one-time home of Williamstown, but similar in vibe; small enough to get away from the hustle and bustle, but large enough to ensure that your girlfriend isn’t one degree away from your doctor, dentist, shrink, yoga instructor, etc. On the other hand, it’s not New York City.
Get over yourself. I grew up in the South, and have also lived in dense urban areas (currently Northern California). People are generally the same everywhere you go. Sure there are dialectic differences, culinary differences, and quality of life differences, but at the end of the day people want to be happy and generally peaceful. The one big difference I've found is that city dwellers tend to whine a lot more.

The South will rise again...or at least get up, scratch itself and give you a big 'ol hug and offer you some sweet tea when you get there. There are going to be some striking differences (like moving from Teas to New Yawk City) but I belive people are generally good, some are just a bit misinformed about different things. Whether it's gun control or animal rights it's all fodder for all us good citizens to wrestle over while the man behind the curtain pull levels and twiddles knobs...where is that darn dog (media?) when you need it?
