This is not an attack on Randy Rhodes, but sometimes I’m glad our youth don’t watch media news. The level of dialogue and critical engagement is seriously embarrassing in forums like this. And even more scary is that we have folks like Janet Parshell in positions of influence. It just makes you wonder how long will the world be around with people like this. This dialogue is only slightly better the reality show confrontation. Brothas on the street corner or working women in the laundry matt can provide you better analysis of the politics of this country.

bakari, i couldn’t agree with you more. the level of dialogue and critical engagement in these types of “showdowns” is a direct representation of one-sided agendas, trying to leverage a majority position in the current political realm. unfortunately, this type of “media news” is a classic snapshot of what’s wrong with the country; one person feels like they can go on the attack with a majority backing, the other has to converse from a defensive position. my gut tells me that it’s important to expose these moments (and archive them) for the lunacy they display. media matters for america does a great job of this on a daily basis…

hopefully, new media forums such as this have a chance at capturing a semblence of the thinking and respect shown in those street corner and laundry matt moments of conversation. at least, one would hope.

I was disappointed to find that the .wmv file doesn’t work. Is it still available somewhere?

    Cheers and thanks!
