UCLA Campus Police Brutality
Man, so much for the old campus cop cliché: “Stop! Or I’ll say stop again!”
I agree with Navaho — these students are a bunch of bitches. I don’t know how anyone could just stand around and let campus cops do this to another student.
UPDATE: Apparently, UCLA Chancellor Norman Abrams backs the action of his rent-a-thugs.
UPDATE II: It turns out that the abused 23 year-old student, Mostafa Tabatabainejad, is Iranian-American. His lawyer is saying that his American born client was targeted because of his appearance (in the video you can hear Mostafa screaming about the Patriot Act). Meanwhile, UCLA students protested outside the UCLAPD office, demanding accountability for the police abuse.

What idiots — the cops AND the chancellor. You know why the guy wasn’t getting up after the first time? BECAUSE HE COULDN’T. THAT’S WHAT A TASER DOES — TEMPORARILY DESTROYS MOST OF YOUR VOLUNTARY-MUSCLE CONTROL (in addition to hurting like a mofo).
I mean, pardon me for shouting, but those cops were either issued the weapons without appropriate training (which should include being Tased themselves) or else they just intentionally and publicly tortured a suspect and need to go to prison for the rest of their lives.
i read about this yesterday and when i saw the video, i just couldn’t believe it. there’s no reason to even put your hands on someone in a library. i mean, what the hell knid of problem could he have caused? worst case scenario: you stand there, let the guy grumble for forgetting his ID and walk him out when he gets over himself.
tazering a kid for getting pissed is simply out of control. man, i kept picturing myself at age 20 performing a flying body block on those assholes…
Man watching that just gets the rage peaking in me. I would not let that happen to my fellow student. Even if I got tased. That pisses me off to the highest of pisstivity. Sir we need your badge number. No you need to stop physically assaulting a fellow student just because he forgot his ID… Ohhhh. Damn I’m mad.
And UCLA wonders why I don’t contribute to the Alumni Fund…
I’m glad to see that they did protest afterwards even if no one did a flying elbow on the cops. It definitely gives you chills to hear the guy screaming as he gets zapped.
I wonder, if you grab someone while being tased will they be shocked too? Not that your muscles could actually respond to reach out and grab but I’m curious.
I think it’s enough to ask them a simple question: http://iranian-tased-at-ucla.blogspot.com/
