quick thought... May 6th, 2007 - 9:04PM
Well, my Twitter setup is finally optimized to the nth degree. I’ve now installed the TwitBin Firefox extension and I’m getting Tweets from friends as I work in my browser. It’s much better than subscribing to the RSS feed and eons better than Twitterific (sorry, Anthony, but the damn chirping started driving me bonkers).

You realize you can turn off the notification sound, right? Uncheck the “Play damn chirping sound” option in the preferences panel. ;)
I just can’t imagine always having to have a browser window open to use Twitter, but to each his own.
sure, but once you turn off the notification, it loses the immediacy factor… which is the value, i suppose.
the twitbin plugin doesn’t use a full browser window — it simply adds a ~180 pixel wide tray to the left of the browser. as new tweets come in, they add to the top of the pile.
